Summary of Master Thesis

The objective of this study is to determine economic analysis of farm of dairy cattle in Van Province. Materials of the studuy is obtained from dairy cattle farms which are under control of Van Province Agricultural Directory.
Avarage land which belongs to the farms is 244,90 decare. In the studied farms, the percentage of the farms employing family labor power is 97,15 % while the percentage of farms employing foreign labor is 2,5 %.
Avarage shed capital Per farms is TL 161.250.000 and avarage barn capital is TL 123.750.000, farms capital is formed by animal capital and barn capital. Total animal capital is TL 55.840.000.000. 89,39 % of animal capital is (cow+theifer), 13,16 % is (weared calt + calt) and 5,45 % is bull capital.
There is no foreign capital in studied farms. So liabilities capital is equal to equity capital. Farms total liability capital is TL 91.516.000. As the farms groups extend liability capital increases. Avarage liability capital per farm is TL 2.287.000.000. This value is avaragely per dairy cattle TL 304.039.000.
Total reveneu of dairy cattle is TL 7.044.000.000. 41,75 % of this produced milk value, 30,37 % is inventory worth increase value. The expenditures belongs to the dairy cattle are formed as follows 58,30 % feed expenditures. It is not seen that there is an important difference between farms.
Total revenue of studied farms is TL 6.477.000.000. Per farm revenue for dairy cattle is TL 161.925.000. As the groups of farm extend, revenue of per dairy cattle decrease.

In this study, economic analyses of field crops in the Göller Region based survey data obtained from farms and calculating of supply response analyses of major field crops (wheat, barley, chickpea and anise) in the region is aimed. 

According to results of the study, the rate of land capital in the assets capital assets is found 47,95 highly which proves intensive agriculture. Producing chickpea and anise needs intensive labour use. The rate of foreign labour in the total variable costs is 43,57%. The Gross Margin in the investigated farms is 122.168.000 TL.  Withdrawing of TMO and TEKEL from the market effets to farmers negatively. Wheat productÄ°on is subsistence agriculture for small farms, market oriented for big farms. Barley is being produced for animal feeding and chickpea and anise is market oriented in the region.

In the estimated supply models; short term production elasticity of wheat is 0,71, price elasticity is 0,70 and cross elasticity of wheat relative to barley is -0,28 by the model.  Short term suppy response is 0,83, cross elasticity related to wheat is -0,78. Short term supply elasticity  of chickpea is calculated as 0,92. Short term supply elasticity  of anise to gross return 0,12, cross elasticity is -0,21 for wheat competing product.
